Mpraeso (E/R), Aug. 3, GNA - Right Reverend Michael Bossman, Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church, has called on Christian youth to make the needed sacrifices for the good of their communities.

He urged the youth to show concern for the poor, elderly, the deprived and the socially excluded in the society.

He asked them to demonstrate their love through their deeds, attitudes, speeches, holiness and moral discipline to the people they interact with.

Right Reverend Bossman was speaking at the 11th Biennial Delegates Conference of the Methodist Youth Fellowship Conference at Mpraeso.

The conference was on the theme: 'Upholding the spirit of self-giving as witness to Christ and holistic spirituality.'

Bishop Bossman advised the youth to avoid offensive attitudes towards their leaders, teachers, parents and guardians and uphold the spirit of giving and service to others.

He said by offering upright service to the Lord Jesus Christ, he could save them from their various concerns and transform them into excellent men and women of integrity and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Sister Florence Gyebi-Twum , the Diocesan Lay Chairman, called on the youth to come out with programmes geared towards the mobilisation of the entire membership of the Church for evangelism and discipleship.

Very Reverend Dr Samuel Duah-Dodd, the Superintendent Minister in-charge of the Mpraeso Circuit of the Church, said the Church needs a systematic approach of training lay people to support the ordained in the ministry.
