General News Stop Inciting Ghanaians Against Striking Medical Doctors – Kyeremateng Agarko Tells Govt
AUG 3, 2015 LISTEN

Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wougon, has called on the government to address the concerns of the striking medical doctors.

According to him, the doctors’ demands should not scare the government since every negotiation process calls for bargaining.

He opined that nobody goes on the negotiation table with lesser demands, so it is the duty of the government to reach a consensus with the striking doctors for them to resume work.

Citing himself as example, Hon. Agyarko noted that he would never negotiate with an employer for a less amount but rather will bid for a higher percentage.

He further said that the onus of responsibility lies on the employer to bargain with the employee or client and reasonably cut down the amount.

This, he believed, should be the approach to get the doctors back in their offices caring for patients.

Speaking on “Kokrokoo” on Peace FM, Hon. Kyeremateng Agyarko appealed to the government to stop inciting Ghanaians against the doctors but rather take a critical look at the doctors’ input.
