National Sanitation Day Receives Massive Turn Out In KEEA

The 9th edition of the National Sanitation Day clean-up exercise hosted by the central region, witnessed massive turn out in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac KwekuSam and his coordinating Director, AlhajiIssah Musa fully participated to inspire others to get involve.

The Elmina Zongo chief, Nana Dauda II, Municipal Chief Imam, Sheikh YahayaShafikas well as other opinion leaders, joined the youth to clean up the entire Zongo community and SSNIT Flats.

The zeal of the youth was boosted when Hon. I. K. Sam and Alhaji Musa joined hands with them on the street to clean their environs.

Zongo chief, SarikiDauda IIpledged that he, together with his elders, would do everything within their powers to sustain the exercise in order to rid the Zongo of filth to prevent diseases.

Heads of departments of the Assembly and their staff were deployed to other communities within the municipality to undertake the exercise.

The municipal education director, Mr. AbaidooAdentwiEdzii led staff of the education directorate to clean Elmina Bantuma and its environs.

Agric Department, Immigration, Fire Service NCCE and NSS performed their task atGwira Akyinim, Pershie and Esaaman.

Atabaadze Junction was taken over by the Municipal Police Command under ACP Jonathan OtengAsare with support from Artisans, GPRTU and PROTOA.

RED Cross, EHU and Works Department of the KEEA Assembly cleaned Kissi whiles staff of NADMO, NHIS, Ghana Water Company and CHRAJ executed the exercise at Ayensudo.

The Omanhen of Komenda Tradional Area, Nana KodwoKru II joined his subjects to clean the whole Komenda town.

Nana KodwoConduah VI, Edina manhen is expected to lead his people to clean Elmina on Tuesday, 4th August.
