The Ghana Free Zones Board, [GFZB] , has as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility[CSR] presented an amount of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis, [GHC. 10.000.00], to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu.

Presenting the amount to the Head of the Muslim community in Ghana , Madam Obuobia Opoku Darko, the Acting Deputy Executive Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Board, said her outfits has been supporting the Imam every year since 2012.

Madam Obuobia Darko pointed out that the donation which was supposed to take place in Ramadan was delayed due to certain circumstances , was meant to augment the Chief Imam’s efforts at feeding the needy and less privileged in the society who throngs his house daily to find something to eat.

She believes that the GFZB has to be part of the Ramadan celebration-a month which is full of blessings not only to Muslims but Ghana and the world at large. She thanked the Imam for the warmly reception accorded she and her team.

Earlier on, Hajia Hannatu Abubakar, the Business Support Manager of the GFZB , called on other corporate bodies to come to the Chief Imam’s aid as he alone cannot do it.

She further urged Muslims to continue with the good work they have been doing during the Ramadan month. Month of Ramadan , she noted is the month of giving, blessings, forgiveness and love for each other and that Muslims all over the world must impact the positive lessons learnt during that month in their respective societies.

‘’ The National Chief Imam supports a lot of people in the society both Muslims and non-Muslims hence the Board’s extension of a helping hand to him’’ Hajia Hannatu indicated.

On his part, the National Chief Imam thanked the GFZB for the kind gesture and prayed for more blessings not only for the Board but Ghana as a whole.

The Imam, Dr. Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu explained that Ramadan which the 9th Month of the Islamic calendar is the Month in which the Holy Quran was revealed, 30 days compulsory fasting was enjoyed and the same month in which Muslims are encouraged to intensify their supplications, love for mankind and forgiveness amongst others.

Muslims during the Holy Month of Ramadan according him, prayed for the nation Ghana and that he was hopeful the prayers have been accepted by the Almighty Allah and soon economic and other situations in the country will improve.
