Join hands with the police to fight crime - DSP Zangina

Kyekyewere (Ash), July 30, GNA - Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Francis Zangina, the Boamang District Commander, has encouraged the formation of Community Neighbourhood Watch Committees to help fight crime.

He said there was a need for stronger involvement of the people in ensuring that there was adequate security protection for everybody.

This is even more necessary, considering the fact that the police service has challenges with numbers and could not have officers in every community, he added.

DSP Zangina was speaking at a public forum held at Kyekyewere by the Afigya-Kwabre District Assembly to discuss ways of speeding up the development of the area.

He asked the people to be bold to expose criminals and assist the police with useful leads to track down and arrest those who have chosen to live outside the law.

The event provided the opportunity for the people to have sufficient insight into the activities of the Assembly, especially how its financial resources are being applied.

It was also used to gauge the concerns and learn at first hand the priority needs of the community.

Mr. Kwaku Oppong-Kyekyeku Kaakyire, the District Chief Executive (DCE), said the Assembly would continue to work hard and with zeal to improve the lives of the people.

The people, however, have a part to play by paying their taxes and rates to the Assembly.

He pledged 100 bags of cement in support of an on-going construction works on the Afigyaman Senior High School (SHS) in the community.

Nana Safia Kutin, the chief of Kyekyewere, praised the Assembly for the step taken to promote transparency.
