Government scored zero per cent in energy and performed below average in an IMANI report released Wednesday.

It however performed creditably in education with a score of 65.7 percent.

The research report by the policy think tank was to assess government's performance vis-a-vis the manifesto promises it made in the 2012 elections.

IMANI scrutinised the over 542 promises on education, energy, economy etc. made by the NDC government which formed basis for its retention in government Joy News' Kwakye Afreh Nuamah reported.

The government promised to end the current power crisis in 2013 but it has reneged on that promise, the report said.

Two years after that deadline the country is still enduring 24 hours of darkness, and 12 hours of electricity in a pronounce load shedding regime.

Presenting the details of the report to the press, Wednesday, Emmanuel Boadi Mensah noted most of the promises were not achieved.

Given the state of the energy situation in the country, the report scored the government zero. However the report recognised strides made by government in education as well as governance.

The report rated government as having scored 43.30% in governance and 36.4% under economy .
