Kyidomhema Initiative in collaboration with Nkosohene of Awukugua has held a symposium for all schools in Awukugua in the Akuapem North District in aid of educating young girls on the effect of teenage pregnancy; sexually transmitted diseases and how to prevent breast cancer among teenagers

The event brought together people from all walks of life including Hon Dan Botwe, MP for Okere ,Chief of Awukugua, Queen mother of Awukugua ,Queen mother of Larteh Kronti Division Nana Akosua Amoabea II, Experts from Department of Social Welfare, Professors and Doctors from Salisbury University in America.

Speaking at the programme, Nana Afua Onyinah, C.E.O of Kyidomhemaa Initiative said that, school drop out rate keep on increasing as a result of teenage pregnancy and the time has come for society to wake and help the young girls over the canker.

She said there is the need to act fast because they are going steer the affairs of the country in the future .

Nana Afua challenged parents to be weary of their children's welfare especially the girl-child and also appealed to all stakeholders to play their part to curb the menace of teenage.

The chief of Awukugua, Osabarima Opese Konadu commended the organisers of the symposium and pledged his support to the fight against the menace. He also called for collaborative efforts to help educate children for a better living in future.

On behalf of Ohemea Akuaba Foundation, books were donated to SDA , Methodist and Presbyterian schools to help in the quality of education in the community.
