JiangXi ZhongMei Engineering To Construct Nkoranza Yeferi-Bodom Road

Jiangxi Zhongmei Engineering,Construction a Chinese construction and engineering firm in the construction fields of roads, housing, public works, urban rail, mines, and hydropower as well as the installation of mechanical and electrical equipment and geological exploration are set to construct Asekye Nkoranza-Yefiri-Bodom road, as part of Government's commitment to build a better Ghana.

The Project Manager of the Chinese company, Qin Jian, who went to Nkoranza together with some Government Appointees told the media that the project would be executed within a year.

At the sod cutting ceremony for work to commence on the Asekye Nkoranza-Yefiri-Bodom road on Friday, the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development and MP for Nkoranza South, Kwadwo Emmanuel Agyekum, and the Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Samuel Justice Adjei, told the people of Yefiri, Busunya and Nkoranza to vote for President Mahama since he's fulfilling his promise with the better Ghana Project in the region.

According to the Deputy Minister , the government has started many water projects, the construction of schools, clinics and roads in the district and so the president should be given a second term to complete the numerous projects he has started.

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Inusah Fuseini, cut the sod to officially mark the beginning of construction works.

The $200 million road project, in order to fast track its completion before the 2016 elections, will be executed by two companies— Jiang Xi Zhong Mei Engineering, a Chinese company and a Ghanaian company.

The roads minister underscored the importance of the road in the sociology-economic empowerment of the farmers and all residents, noting that it would improve their living standards. He therefore asked the people to support the government to do more. He also inspected the Nkoranza township roads which are under rehabilitation.

The Omanhene of the area, Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom IV, who chaired the function, thanked the government for the project but appealed for the levelling of the Bodom hill and the expansion of the Fiama bridge among others.
