The Kumasi Academy Old Students Association is putting up an ultra-modern science laboratory block for the school, at the cost of 421,000 dollars.

Accra, July 7, GNA - The Kumasi Academy Old Students Association is putting up an ultra-modern science laboratory block for the school, at the cost of 421,000 dollars.

The project which is expected to be completed by the end of July next year, is being financed through voluntary contributions and fund-raising activities.

Dr Kwabena Dapaah-Siakwan, National President, disclosed this at a cocktail party, to raise funds for the project in Accra.

He said the Association had already completed a Sick Bay and Nurses Quarters for the school, and they would soon be commissioned.

Dr Dapaah-Siakwan said the provision of the facilities was the Association's contribution towards the development of education.

'It was the school which made us what we are today,' he said, adding that it was therefore prudent to 'pay back.'

Mrs Eunice Appiah-Mensah, Headmistress of the school, commended the Association for the enormous contributions towards the development of the school.

She expressed the hope that the Association would embark on more projects, and urged the students to take advantage of the facilities being offered to upgrade their knowledge.

Mr Akwasi Osei Adjei, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, urged the students to take their lessons seriously, and desist from engaging in negative tendencies that may ruin their lives.
