Live By The Truth—Prophet Charges Ghanaians

The founder and leader of The Holy Universal Mission church at Sokoban, near Kumasi, Prophet Gabriel Ntim, has appealed to Ghanaians to uphold the truth and stop lending support to falsehood.

He said it is inimical to national development and progress if the citizens of this country continue to engage in wrongful acts in society. What is worse according to the man-of-God is that some people have the tendency to also encourage wrongful acts.

Speaking in an interview in Kumasi on a wide range of issues bordering the nation, Prophet Ntim said it is shameful to think that the truth has become a rare commodity in this country and according to him “what is very worrying is that even religious and high ranking societal leaders have been caught in this web of falsehood”.

He is of the view that although Ghana has come a long way after attaining political independence and republican status, the country has very little to show by way of progress despite the abundance of natural resources and well trained human resources.

The man-of-God said unnecessary politicking, corruption in low and higher places, perennial examination malpractices and indiscipline by the citizens have become the bane of the country after 55 years, which makes Ghana a laughing stock in the comity of nations.

“Is this what we are going to bequeath to our future generations?” he asked rhetorical and he went on to add that the future of this country can only be secured if the present crop of political, traditional, and religious leaders and citizens change their attitude towards nation building.

Prophet Ntim called on his colleagues in the ministry and leaders of other faiths such as Islam and African Traditional Religion to join in the search for solutions to the problems of the country. He said it is important for the leaders of the church to encourage their congregants to stop making complains and compliment prayer with hard work since prayer alone cannot solve the problems currently confronting Ghana.

“I especially appeal to pastors and leaders of other religions to stop using their positions to defraud and play smartness on their unsuspecting congregants. “We should encourage our people to actively engage in nation building” he said.

He also called on city authorities in the country to be proactive in their roles to prevent disasters as recently happened in Accra and Kumasi.

“It is important for our city managers to go out there and ensure that sanity prevails, but I advise Ghanaians to stop throwing waste in drains and also stop encroaching on water ways” he added.

On the redesigning of the Kejetia lorry terminal in Kumasi, Prophet Ntim suggested to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to consider establishing lorry terminals for heavy duty trucks such as buses and articulator trucks outside the main city center to help decongest the central business districts.
