The party’s Womens’ Organiser, Otiko Djaba also said arrangements had been made to provide food for the residents “so that they can eat whilst on their journey back home".
According to the residents, the ruling government was being discriminatory in the relocation of residents adding that members of the NDC were being given preferential treatment to the disadvantage of perceived political opponents.

The residents were rendered homeless following the demolition exercise at Sodom and Gomorrah. The exercise was undertaken to pave way for the dredging of the Korle Lagoon to prevent needless flooding in the capital.
