Don’t Chase Miracles, Chase God

The recent inhumane harassment by a Psychic prophet on an innocent pregnant woman in the name of prophetic direction has been my thought exercise till date. I used to listened to the former President Jerry John Rawlings on his criticism of some men of God and how they display God’s power haphazardly and I finally understood why he refer to some of these miracles as ‘’magic’’.

I have actually purposed in my heart not to talk about men of God because before ‘’God called them’’, I was not consulted, am only trying to bring this piece to public notice. I heard, saw and read on social media that the senior Prophet of the God’s Way International Church has demonstrated an ‘’unpastoral’’ ethics by stamping his foot on a pregnant woman’s bump just because the woman needed a miracle from the same God that created her and the so called prophet.

It was this inhumane prophetic act that drew the criticism of an American Gospel Singer on June 17, 2015 hence, this article. Deitrick Hardon who is a pastor, a singer, an actor and a song producer said and I quote ‘’this is the kind of foolish that’s got the church looking crazy right now!!!smh. The bible only speaks of laying on of hands and not kicking folks’’ he quizzed.

I won’t say directly that the act was outrageous neither will I say it was by divine direction. But my question is what on earth will move a pregnant woman from her home to the tabernacle of a prophet to be molested and have your image gone viral on social media as a miracle chaser? Is it safe delivery she wanted or twins? But I strongly believe when she wasn’t pregnant she came for a magic( as our former president will call it) to be performed for her so that she will take seed and after the fulfilment of the first magic she is in for delivery.

I heard a story of a pastor too who told the congregation to go and chew grass and drink petrol on top as a direction from God.Hmmmmm, so I asked myself what is happening to the sanity of our dear citizens or human race?. I won’t talk about the humanbeings who have accepted to marry same sex today, that will be for another day, but why cant we think and know that God upstairs is the God inside us and it is not always that the man of God should hear something and tell us.

I think the abana of science and the pharphar of politics are more attractive to our stubborn wills and warped intellect than the wondrous cross and the word of God. When the good book said we should go and look for the book of the Lord and read it ourselves in Isaiah 34:16 we are moving from one prayer camp to another seeking quick and fast solution and at the end living us despondent and delirious.

The God who created you, created me and if he is the God of miracles , why don’t we just follow his word and crave to have a relationship with him and then the rest of the miracles will follow. The fact that you are 30 years doesn’t mean you are expiring as some ladies think, young man, the fact that you are done with school and not getting a job now doesn’t mean that’s the end of the world, the fact that your peers are soaring and you are crawling doesn’t mean you are not part of the human race. In the love world I have a philosophy that I will fight for love but i won't compete for love but in the real world my philosophy is life is a race but not a competition.

I have read stories of people who walked their way to buy a jet whiles hitherto their colleagues were buying cars. All these desperations is the gateway for humiliations. Dr. Mensah Otabil said ‘’ the fact that you have started first does not mean you will end best’’. Like my good friend Pobee of University of Cape Coast said ’’persistence breaks resistance’’, If only you don’t give up then you will surely make up. Our sole problem is that we give up too early on life just when the miracle is at the doorstep and we throw ourselves into tantrums. I WISH YOU WELL!!!!!!
