Welder Sentenced To Fifteen 15 Months

Tarkwa Circuit Court has slapped electrical welder to 15 month imprisonment for stealing one 32 inches plasma television, one OLAF Ludwig DVD and cash sum of GHC 500.00 given the total of GHC 1,600.00, the property of one Francis Aidoo.

The accused person, Isaac Quiacoe pleaded guilty to conspiracy and stealing whilst his accomplices Emmanuel Kobi and Kwame Eshun are at large.

The exhibit, according to the presiding Judged, Mr. Justice Alex Obeng Asante, should be given back to the owner whiles Bench warrant was also issue for the arrest of Emmanuel Kobi and Kwame Eshun.

Presenting the facts, detective chief inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court that complainant Francis Aidoo is unemployed and lived at Tamso a suburb of Tarkwa whiles the accused Isaac Quiacoe and Emmanuel Kobi now at large also live at Tamso. Kwame Eshun live at Agona Nkwanta and also at large.

He narrated to the court that, about a weeks ago, complainant tasked Emmanuel Kobi and the accused Isaac Quiacoe to repair his ceiling fan in his room for him. Emmanuel Kobi whilst working on the fan showed a part of the fan which needed replacement.

The complainant and Emmanuel Kobi went to Tarkwa to purchase a new one to repair the fan whist the accused person was waiting in the complainant’s room for them to return to do the work.

Complainant and Emmanuel Tobi combed shops in town and as they could not get some to buy went to Tamso taxi station and whilst waiting to board a taxi back home, complainant fell asleep on a bench.

Emmanuel Kobi then took advantage and rushed to complainant’s house where he conspired with the accused Isaac Quiacoe and stoles one 32 inch ALBA plasma television value GHC 900.00, one OLAF Ludwig DVD player valued GHC 200.00 and the cash of ghc 500.00 given the total of GHC 1,600.00 from the complainant room.

Chief inspector Oscar Amponsah said accused Isaac Quiacoe and Emmanuel Kobi at large sold the booty to Kwame Eshun at Agona Nkwanta at GHC 300.00.Complainant report the case to Nsuta Police for investigations.

During investigations, Isaac Quiacoe was arrested whilst Emmanuel managed to escape. Police therefore escorted accused person to Agona Nkwanta to arrest Kwame Eshun and was missed by a hair’s breadth.

The Prosecutor said through the help of Kwame Eshun’s wife exhibit to wit one 32 ALBA plasma television and OLAF Ludwig DVD player identified by complainant were retrieved from Emmanuel‘s room and same were retained for evidential purpose.

After investigations, Isaac Quiacoe was charged with the various offences.
