Government will continue to assist private sector - Daddieh

Elubo (W/R), June 26, GNA - Mr Sylvester Daddieh, the District Chief Executive for Jomoro, has reiterated that the country could not develop without the active involvement of the private sector.

To this end, he said, the government would continue to encourage and assist the private sector to flourish.

Mr Daddieh made these remarks when he inaugurated five buses for the Diplomat Royal Transport Company Limited at the Elubo border in the Western Region.

This brings to 10 the number of buses for the Company.

The buses are currently operating from the Elubo border to Aflao, Elubo-Kumasi and Elubo-Accra.

He commended the Management of Diplomat Transport Company for the initiative, which he said, had created employment for some people in the area.

The DCE, therefore, invited more of such companies to the district, adding that the Assembly would offer them the necessary assistance to grow.

Mr Daddieh urged the company to ensure the safety and welfare of their passengers, and appealed to the drivers and conductors to be faithful to passengers.

In a welcoming address, Mr Samuel Incoom, director of the company, said it would soon extend its operations from Elubo to Takoradi.

He said government alone could not meet the demands of Ghanaians, hence the need to involve the private sector in the development of the nation.

Mr Moses Andoh, the immediate past assemblyman for Elubo which chaired the function, said as the engine of growth the private sector should be promoted.
