General News Ledzokuku NDC Youth Gives Presidency Two Weeks Ultimatum To Sack MCE
JUN 23, 2015 LISTEN

The Youth Wing of the ruling NDC has issued a strong letter to the Presidency demanding the sack of the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly within 14 days else they will “advice” themselves.

According to the letter dated 22nd June 2015 and addressed to the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, and signed by Mr. Kassim Issah, the Ledzokuku Constituency Youth Organiser and his Deputy, Mrs. Naomi Davids, the actions and in actions of the embattled MCE is affecting President John Mahama, his government and the entire NDC in the Ledzokuku Constituency adversely.

“This call has become very necessary in the face of various acts and omission of the MCE which is not inuring positively to the benefit of the President, His Excellency John Mahama, the government and the National Democratic Congress, especially going in into next year's crucial elections”, the letter intercepted by your authoritative modernghana.com noted.

The letter among other things accused the MCE of incompetency, being lackadaisical towards his job, disrespect toward the NDC Executives in the Ledzokuku Constituency and the MP, Hon Benita Sena Okity-Duah.

“We have Ledzokuku and Teshie to serve. We have promises to redeem. We have elections to win. We have no time tolerating the incompetency of Hon. Seth Badu Tawiah anymore. We pray your good office and the Presidency will act on this letter and replace Seth Badu Tawiah now. Anything short of that, the Youth Wing of the NDC in Ledzokuku will rise after 14 days from the date of this letter”, it concluded.

Below, we produce unedited the full letter as intercepted:

The Chief of Staff
Flagstaff House
Accra.

Dear Sir,

HON SETH BADU TAWIAH MUST BE SACKED AS MCE FOR LEKMA NOW

We write to respectfully call for the immediate removal of Hon. Seth Badu Tawiah as the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly. This call has become very necessary in the face of various acts and omission of the MCE which is not inuring positively to the benefit of the President, His Excellency John Mahama, the government and the National Democratic Congress, especially going in into next year's crucial elections.

Since his appointment in September 2013, the MCE's attitude in attending to issues of concern in the Ledzokuku Constituency can at best be described as lackadaisical. He has treated with contempt various programmes and activities he has been invited to in his official capacity as the MCE of LEKMA. A classical example is how Seth Badu Tawiah abandoned our MP, Hon Benita Sena Okity-Duah and Sidii Abubakar, our National Youth Organiser during the sharing of relief items to the flood victims in Teshie on Sunday, 7th June 2015.

Again, the MCE has refused to attend to various developmental plans within the Ledzokuku Constituency and we strongly believe that if he is not changed in the very earliest, our chances of retaining the Presidential and Parliamentary slots in Ledzokuku will diminish. Major drains and road networks that need to be attended to have been neglected under the watch of the MCE. Gleefully, Seth Badu-Tawiah has looked on and law and order have virtually broken down in Ledzokuku. Today, thanks to the incompetency of Hon. Seth Badu-Tawiah, residents are building on water ways without recourse to the Assembly's Bye laws and regulations. Under the watch of Seth Badu Tawiah, Fuel stations are springing up recklessly within Ledzokuku as if there were no laws covering that.

In the run up to the 2012 elections, the provision of a Central Market for the good people of Teshie was the key campaign message of the NDC. That promise propelled the party's Presidential and Parliamentary candidates to win handsomely within the Constituency. However, since he was appointed as MCE, Hon. Seth Badu-Tawiah as MCE has put various impediments on the ways of all stakeholders to ensure that that project doesn't see the light of day. And as major players, we will not sit down and watch Hon. Seth Badu Tawiah to ruin our President, Our MP and our NDC in Ledzokuku. Never!

As for NDC Executives in Ledzokuku and the Hon MP, Hon. Seth Badu Tawiah doesn't have any regard for them one bit. He disrespect for them knows no bounds. All their efforts in various ways to bring his attention to some of the wrongs of his administration have been spitted upon by him.

We are therefore calling on H.E President Mahama, through your good office to relieve Hon. Seth Badu-Tawiah of his position as the MCE of the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly. We know there are more competent Ghanaians from Nungua who shares in the vision of the President and can better replace Seth Badu Tawiah.

We have Ledzokuku and Teshie to serve. We have promises to redeem. We have elections to win. We have no time tolerating the incompetency of Hon. Seth Badu Tawiah anymore. We pray your good office and the Presidency will act on this letter and replace Seth Badu Tawiah now. Anything short of that, the Youth Wing of the NDC in Ledzokuku will rise after 14 days from the date of this letter. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mr. Kassim Issah
