Casa Trasacco's CEO is the best chef

Accra, June 22, GNA - Mr Massimiliano Taricone, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of interior designer Casa Trasacco, emerged victor, clinching the GH₵ 10,000.00 prize in the maiden edition of 'My boss is the best chef.'

'My boss is the best chief,' a cooking competition for CEOs, is an initiative of marketing communications agency Origin 8 which seeks to entertain, relieve stress and support social causes by making the winner use the prize for a corporate social responsibility project of their choice.

The maiden edition of the show, held in Accra on Saturday, saw Mr Taricone compete against Mr Aaron Issa Anafure, CEO of SIC Life and Mr Salid Waid, CEO of Sanita, in a jollof cooking contest.

After a few hours in the 'kitchen', Mr Aaron Issa Anafure, CEO of insurance company SIC Life was adjudged second runner up and Mr Walid Said of Sanita Consumer Products Limited emerged as the first runner up.

The contest was judged by a panel of top chefs including Mr Nutepe Kartey-Attipoe, General Secretary of the Ghana Chefs Association and current silver medalist for Africa.

Mr Taricone, who needed a few minutes more to finish with his cooking, said he was relaxed and not nervous though the clock seemed to be working against him.

'To me it was just like doing business. I was focused, following my own plan and not looking at the others,' he said.

The Italian also said he was pleased for his business to have another opportunity at donating and pursuing social causes.

Mr Anafure of SIC Life said he was pleased to participate in the memorable event despite his position as second runner up.

Mr William Ansah, CEO of Origin 8, said the contest which was initially planned as an annual event, has been met with very good support from many corporate institutions in Ghana, asking for it to be more regular.

He said the idea of making it an annual event is going to be reviewed so that a date could be announced soon for the next edition.

'My Boss is The Best Chef' was sponsored by organizations including Starr FM, Casa Trasacco, Daily Guide Newspaper, The Finder Newspaper, Yaanom, Ghana Web, Trigger Pixels, Viasat 1, Top FM and Top TV, Okay FM and Classic Magazine.
