Kumasi, May 30, GNA - The Pensioners Medical Scheme for Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), National Pensioners Association would take off on June 1.
Mr Hubert Adarkwa Tuffour, Ashanti Regional Vice Chairman of the Association said this in Kumasi during the monthly meeting of the Kumasi District branch of the Association in Kumasi.
He said Liberty Insurance company, which has been selected by the Association to operate the scheme would spend GH₵ 4000,00 on each member annually on medical bills covering diseases like diabetes, arthritis, hypertension, prostrate, ear, eye, throat infection and physiotherapy.
He explained that members are to contribute GH₵ 48 .00 each annually to finance the scheme and in case of any medical bill above GH₵ 4000.00 the beneficiary would pay the excess amount.
