Volta Region Adaklu, May 29th 2015, -Wife of the Vice President Matilda Amissah Arthur, has called christians to rise above political polarization and love each other irrespective of who they are, in party affiliation, tribe and social standing.

Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur made the call when was addressing the opening ceremony of the 2015 Global Evangelical Church Women’s convention at the Adaklu Wumenu Convention Centre of the Church, in the Volta Region. It was on the theme: 'Walking with God the Holy Spirit-Our Role as Christian Women '.

She called on the women of God, to let their walk with the Lord be close, truthful and serious because there are many blessing: He is waiting to shower on us if we are faithful with our walk with him. Adding that the role of women puts them in a unique position, to be able to mother all who come their way. Since the involvement of women in church activities go a long way.

She said women can change this country. If truly know God and are walking with him then we should bring up our children in the knowledge of Christ and impact the moral values to them. Then they would grow up to become responsible citizens.

She said if we are walking in the Holy Spirit we should love the word of God and therefore share it with others because the gospel is the answer to the ailing society that we live in. So if the gospel reaches everybody and they come to accept the Lord, their lives would be changed and they would begin to also walk with God, live in love and in truth.

Mrs. Amissah Arthur said as Christian women we have been blessed with diverse gifts. Which The Lord wants us to use these gifts to help others in serving the Lord in our various capacities as women in the church in order to bring glory to the Lord.

The Second Lady advised that we should stop being selfish, puling each other down and fighting each other. She took the opportunity to congratulate them on the projects that they are pursuing to help the young girls, the aged and the sick. She also donated some health materials through the church to be given to the leprosarium in the area.

.About 1,000 members of the church drawn from the Region are attending the two-day conference on the theme: “Knowing God the Holy Spirit.”

The Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, (G.E.C) Rt. Rev. Dr. Edem Tettey praised the women’s ministry of the church for the good job that they continue to do for our dear country

The Moderator also encouraged them to take their personal study of the Word of God and Prayer to a higher level; and depending on the Holy Spirit, they will produce signs and wonders in their congregations.

Rev. Mrs. Edith Adoblosu-Kuhlor, National Co-ordinator of the Ministry, commended the first and Second Ladies of Ghana, for the good job that they continue to embark on as mothers of this country.

She said God would continue to bless them as they continue to donate to hospitals ,orphanages, schools , institutions ,and witch camps etc ,with the objective to put smiles on the faces of the sick ,deprived communities and especially children who find themselves in orphanages’ through no fault of theirs would not go down unrewarded.

Rev. Mrs. Edith Adoblosu-Kuhlor, further stated that social media is doing more harm than good and condemned those using it for other purposes, she also touched on the indecent language and profane utterances on the television and radio where they insult the President and those in authority, lies and defamation of character circulated on twitter, Facebook etc,describing it as something that would not do our children any good as Christian mothers. So the need to condemn it .and rather leave a good legacy for our children.

She advised that as Christian mothers we must ensure that our youth shouldn’t take interest in these. Instead advised that they take interest in seeing to the text books and visiting libraries.

Mrs. Edith Adoblosu-Kuhlor called on the women to also help keep their environment clean and that education on hand washing must be intensified to kick out diseases like cholera, Ebola and the rest because Cleanness is next to Godliness.
