The Presbyterian Church of Ghana will inaugurate the Asante South Presbytery at Obuasi in the Asante Region on Sunday, 31st May 2015

The inauguration of the Asante South Presbytery will become the 20th Presbytery of the Church both in Ghana and abroad.

This was contained in a press release issued and signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Church, Rev George Ezekiel Larbi on Friday.

The Release said the Right-Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, will perform the inaugural ceremony.

According to the release the moderator will be assisted by the Clerk of General Assembly, Rev Dr Samuel Ayete-Nyampong and the General Assembly Council.

The new Presbytery, which will have the Reverend Emmanuel Asare Amoah as its first Chairperson with Rev Daniel Brobbey as Clerk, comprises Obuasi, Anyinam, Dunkwa, Wassa-Akropong, New Edubiase and Kunka Districts.

The new Presbytery is being is curved out of the present Asante Presbytery .The objective among others is to create efficiency and effectiveness in the administration of the Church in the area.
