3rd Ghana France Higher Education Conference - Engineering Sciences

The Embassy of France to Ghana and Vice Chancellors Ghana are organizing the “3rd Ghana France Higher Education Conference” at the International Conference Centre in Accra on June 8th and 9th 2015 and at KNUST in Kumasi on the 10th June 2015.

The overall goal of the Conference is to enhance the cooperation between French and Ghanaian higher education institutions.This year’s edition will focus on Engineering Sciences. The third Ghana France higher Education conference will provide a platform where French and Ghanaian universities, institutions and networks can showcase the excellence of their education and the range of training opportunities available for students, employers and employees.

Also, it will be a unique occasion to exchange on the main challenges for training in Engineering Sciences from advanced technician to engineer, not only between universities but also with private sector (French and Ghanaian companies).

One plenary session will be explaining the programmes and curricula in France and Ghana. Pedagogical tools, skills assessment, trainings and more details will be sharing between engineering schools, professionals and employers. Four round tables will gather the main stakeholders from private sector and academic institutions to detail some issues: initial training for advanced technicians, engineering masters, vocational and continuous training, networks and student mobility.

French universities will interact with Master students, training managers, employers, and employees during special “presentation” sessions on 8th of June from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. They will receive information on how study and training in France.

According to the Director for Institut Français du Ghana, Paulo PAIS, France and Ghana have decided in 2013 during the 1st Conference in Accra to upgrade their higher education cooperation. Institut Français du Ghana is committed to promote these exchanges and facilitate opportunities for studying in France.

He recalled that “over the two last years, our work has contributed to develop partnerships between French and Ghanaian universities, to support doctoral schools, and to increase the mobility of both French and Ghanaians students .We will continue to mobilize our partners in France and in Ghana to consolidate a long-term partnership. That’s why we are working hard to establish an agreement on mutual recognition of certifications and studies time. It will be the first for France in Africa”.
