Nyinahin, May 27, GNA - Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Felix Fosu-Agyeman, the Atwima Divisional Commander, has called on commercial drivers to co-operate with the police to apprehend notorious armed robbery gangs operating in the area.

The Divisional Commander, who was addressing commercial drivers at a meeting held at Nyinahin, further advised the drivers plying remote areas not to drive at dawn to avoid being attacked by the miscreants, who have been harassing commuters in the Atwima area.

He also counseled drivers to report to the police for questioning, criminals including suspicious looking-passengers and assured that informant's identities would be kept confidential.

ACP Fosu-Agyeman lauded the people in the area for helping to nip in a bud a number of attempted robbery cases in the year 2014 and the first quarter of this year.

'You should also endeavour to do away with overloading, speeding and drunkenness to avoid road accidents', he added.

DSP Frederick Mensah of the Atwima-Mponua District Command also advised women to be extra careful when boarding vehicles especially taxi cabs with only men on board during the night.
