Sachet Water Price Goes Up

The price of sachet water is set to be increased by 50 percent by the first week of June this year, DAILY GUIDE has learnt.

With this new arrangement, sachet water would go for 30 pesewas instead of 20.

The harsh economic situation in the country and other related problems are said to have necessitated the proposed increment.

Players in the sachet water industry are said to be running their businesses at a loss in recent times, sparking the idea of price increase.

The erratic power supply quandary which has been going on in the country for three years, is said to be one major problem facing them.

The recent increase in the prices of petroleum products by the NDC government is also not helping the sachet water operators.

Prices in almost all commodities in the country have witnessed a sharp increase since the new fuel prices were announced

In addition, the depreciating Cedi is reportedly having adverse affect on the sachet water business as most of the products are imported.
