Condolences To The Family Of The Late Adam Mahama And A Clarion Call On Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo To Show Leadership
25.05.2015 LISTEN

We at SONETCO Institute are still in a state of shock over the sudden demise of Mr. Adam Mahama, the NPP Upper East Regional Chairman in such a bizarre and "vampiric" manner which our body politics in the 4th Republic has never experienced.

We join all well-meaning Ghanaians to express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the people of the Upper East Region and the New Patriotic Party.

We pray for peace and calm at the demand for justice to be exercised forcefully and fairly in this matter as our nation continues to uphold the Rule of Law, entrench the right of citizens to Life and Security, and also to serve as a deterrent to anyone or a group of persons who may be nurturing any of such similar evils.

We use this opportunity to make a passionate call on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the leader and flagbearer of the NPP to exhibit unfettered leadership to bring into fruition evidential peace in the party.

Democracy is never enhanced when in our case as a nation the largest opposition party is in turmoil.

Nobody's life must be taken in the exercise of our democracy.

Many high profile members of the NPP have continued to make very "violence-poisoned" statements which have not been emphatically condemned but rather accorded "heroic status" by the NPP and her functionaries, and therefore it's not uncommon to hear of very disturbing events in the corridors of party almost on weekly basis.

The best tribute and honour the NPP can give to the memory of the late Adam Mahama is a "peaceful postmortem" in the NPP.

Never again must this happen in our body politics, as it's our strongest belief and hope that the other political parties are picking meaningful lessons from the unfortunate happenings in NPP.

Finally the NPP must be seen and attested to by all to be living by their own "confession" as believers of the Rule of Law and fearless promoters of our nation's democracy.

May the soul of the departed patroit rest in the bossom of the almighty Allah.

CRIME Has NO Political Colour, Let's ESCHEW It.

Long Live SONETCO Institute!
Long Live Ghana's Thriving Democracy!
Long Live Our Homeland Ghana!
