Let’s Talk Mental Liberation Not Slaves Reparation:

“We have as far as possible, closed every avenue by which light may enter the slaves’ mind. If we could extinguish the capacity to see the light, our work would be complete; they would then be on a level with the beast of the field and we should be safe.”

Slave reparation is a debate that has been ongoing for quite a long time now. But I realised how serious this whole debate thing was when a friend shared a recent video of one of such debates with me last week. People still desire the Whiteman makes some compensation to people who have been affected as a result of the slave trade which took place several years ago. Do I agree with them?

The question is who gets compensated? Some suggested the descendants of those affected should be compensated; but how would the descendants be traced? Trust me, it will be a long tiresome but futile process that has the propensity of escalating the current problem. Other people also advice the countries of those affected should be given the reparation. I also asked the same question you just asked yourself: give that kind of money to our African governments? A continent that is not even faithful in managing the little that we have and you are talking about trusting it with such money? You and I can guess the fate of this money.

With all these controversies, I believe the slave reparation would eternally remain a debate, talk less of its ability to save the descendants of those innocent souls who were taken across the Atlantic centuries ago from their numerous miseries. A move that was a trade; the Whiteman did pay our fore-parents then, at least that was what history told me and now……. (Well, let’s not go into that today).

Disagree with me if you want; but slave trade is never the cause of the suffering of the black race and certainly the slave reparation would not provide any solution. How can you tell me our generation hasn’t recovered from the trauma of an inhuman treatment that she is not even directly involved in. We should stop kidding ourselves! The solution to our ‘slave trade trauma,’ that’s if it even exists is: MENTAL LIBERATION

The Whiteman knows the slave trade might be abolished eventually; but because they desired to be our superiors forever, they had devised a method to this effect several years ago. You are wondering what this method is I guess. Senator Henry Berry, member of the Virginia House of Delegates in 1832 outlined this incredible method: “We have as far as possible, closed every avenue by which light may enter the slaves’ mind. If we could extinguish the capacity to see the light, our work would be complete; they would then be on a level with the beast of the field and we should be safe.”

And indeed the capacity of the Black race to see the light is extinguished. The white man has put several structures in place to perpetuate this agenda, and we never realised it. They know what a man is fed with as a child is very crucial, so they attacked our educational systems. Our basic school curricula are partially structured to tell the stories of the white’s dominance. What’s the use of history if it goes a long way to enslave me and this time with the worst form of slavery: mental slavery!? Because as a kid if you tell me my fore-parents were enslaved by the Whiteman and you went on to tell me it was initially something like a barter trade; then you are telling me the Whiteman is so rich and wise that he can convince (not force) my fore-parents to willingly give out the sons they cared for, children who helped them on their fishing and farming expeditions.

As if that is not enough, my science teacher would beat me and call me stupid because I can’t mention the name of the person behind the invention of something. That teacher never realised I couldn’t mention those names because they are not the Kofi and Ama names I’m used to. So if all the inventions were made by the Whiteman, then this man must really be reverend, my little mind would tell me. I would later realise most great businesses and philanthropists whose stories are told are mostly from the clan of the slave master. Where are the blacks? My tender mind exclaims. When I watch the Whiteman’s movies, I see sophisticated technologies in display but movies produced by my people displays sophisticated witchcraft and superstition.

This explains why an African child sees the white man as a god. This explains why society would label a child who can speak the slave master’s language fluently as brilliant and label another child who is equally fluent in a native language as a talkative. This explains why Africans are deserting their homes to become illegal immigrants in the land of the white man. This explains why our governments would talk about patronising made in Africa goods, but they themselves would wear suits while travelling to the Whiteman’s land and opt for their dishes at the expense of an African dish.

This also explains why our governments are willingly crossing the Atlantic to virtually beg for the solutions to the problems of mother Africa, because the slave master has told us long ago that we are on the same level with the beasts and don’t have what it takes to solve our own problems. And the black race never realised the planned active presence of our slave masters in our affairs continuously throws stumbling blocks in the path of every road mother African takes towards her freedom, justice, peace and economic recovery and equality. The best form of reparation we must fight for should be restructuring our curricula (especially in the basic schools) to tell the wonderful stories of the black race. We must also join our beloved continent to win the battle of dependency on her slave masters: and show them, now an avenue has been opened in our minds through which we can have access to the light they have obstructed from us over the years; this would certainly be the best form of revenge.

They started by attacking our minds, so to conquer their supremacy we need only one thing: LIBERATION OF OUR MINDS.
