The State Of Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana

The State Of Kwame Nkrumahs Ghana
22.05.2015 LISTEN

The clouds were massed on the horizon and the gale was blowing strenuously. It was a heavy night and a group of patriots were harvested. It wasn’t for the faint hearted. It was a fight for the gallantry. Yes! You were the brain behind the grand slam. Francis Nwia Kofi Ngonloma is your name but you are popularly known as Kwame Nkrumah. You fought a good fight of faith. The tree of change and independence was watered by your blood and sweat. You laid your life for the sake of posterity.

Today, it’s only 6pm yet darkness has enveloped the country. Your grandchildren no longer come out to play, all because of blackouts. The Akosombo Dam is now full of tilapia, swimming helter-skelter.

You resisted the white man. Several years after your death, he is back again but in a different form called‘development partner’, ‘donor’, IMF etc. Corrupt hands have caused drought in the pocket of mother Ghana. Your development agenda is held down by inertia, the inertia of corruption and partisan politics. The oil and gold is sucked and wealth has become the transcendence of the populace. The shrines import goats from Burkina Faso for sacrifice. And the church is full of newfangled miracles and prophesies drilling the doubloon of the market women.

There is a new generation and we have purposed to doctor up your theorem. A generation of visions and wild dreams. A group of ladies and gentlemen destined for impartation. Even in the moment of darkness we see beyond the verge. There is no limitation to our function because, in God we trust. We are never going to give up. The moment of laughter and glory is reposed in our hands. We can see a new Ghana, and we are purposed to unzip it.

My brothers and sisters, let’s rise up and build our country! Our attitude and mindset are the little things that will make the big difference. Our problems are the prize of our progress. We have what it takes to change the fortunes of Ghana. We only need a willing heart with determination. It’s a time of sacrifice and posterity shall write our names on their hearts. It can be done but only if you play your part. It can be done, trust me. Yet if it must be done, it must be done well. BE POSITIVE. “we are not children of a lesser god”
