The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Techiman South Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region, Adjei Mensah says Ghanaians who claim they cannot cope with the current energy crisis can relocate to Cote d’Ivoire.

The MP says Cote d’Ivoire will be the best place for everyone who thinks the NDC government is not performing well.

The NDC MP made the explosive statements on Atinka AM Drive hosted by Kwame Adinkra on Wednesday.

Mr. Adjei Mensah appeared provoked by comments by other members on the panel who held the view that the government was not doing enough to improve the economic situation in the country as well as the energy crisis. The panel included the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Justice Joe Appiah and the Communications Director for the National Democratic Party (NDP), Ernest Owusu Bempah.

The MP told the other members on the panel that if they cannot cope with the energy situation they should go and burn the sea, insisting that the government was doing its best to solve the crisis.

When the MP's attention was drawn to the fact that the statement could create problems for him, he seemed not bothered, saying, “I’m not afraid of what the statement could bring; you can even send it the BBC, I don’t care.”
