The Okaikoi North Constituency branch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) last Saturday donated bags of rice and cloths to women of the party at a short gathering of party faithfuls.

The donation was part of the party's belated Mother's Day celebration and to recognise the efforts of women in ensuring progress of NDC in the constituency.

About 120 women - including the elderly and leaders of various markets - were selected from the different constituency polling stations and presented with gifts.

"It's all part of the motivation. So that we can work together and present a united front so that we can all work to wrestle power from the NPP parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi North", Mustapha Abubakar, a party executive of the constituency and Deputy CEO of MASLOC said.

He admonished the women to stay focused and continue in their good work for the party both at the national and constituency level.

He told the gathering of NDC women that despite the challenges within the party, the only option is to help in ensuring peace and unity among members, urging them not to relent in their effort to ensure cohesion among party members.

"They are the mothers; and they have wisdom, they have knowledge. So if the challenges come, they should be able to sit us down and advise us. They say whatever a mother or a father can see sitting down, a child cannot see even if he is standing on a tree. So their wisdom is so valuable to the party. They should not let us go wayward before calling us to order", Mr Abubakar said.

Present at the short ceremony was Ledzokuku Krowor legislator, Sena Okiti Duah,

She also admonished the women to continue in their efforts at ensuring success for the party.

Okiti Duah also told the women to make it a point to help their colleagues in everything since that is what would truly foster unity in the party.
