Accra, May 6, GNA - Prophet Daniel Nkansah, a former presidential aspirant and founder of the New Vision Pentecostal Church in Accra, has been sentenced to a month's imprisonment for conspiracy to cause unlawful damage.

He was also fined 150 penalty units (GH¢1,800.00) or in default serve 12 months imprisonment.

Initially, the convict, together with other accomplices were charged with six counts of conspiracy to rob and robbery.

Daniel Boahene Nkansah Jnr was also convicted to a-day's imprisonment with 100 penalty units (1,200) or in default would serve 12 months imprisonment.

Tetteh, Azumah, Sammy Tuga and Arnold were convicted for the charge of conspiracy to cause damage and causing unlawful damage and would serve two years imprisonment each.

The court said per CCTV footage tendered in evidence, Afful and Otukunor were captured picking some items from the office of the complainants and accordingly charged them to serve ten years each for robbery.

However, the court, presided over by Justice Francis Obiri, ruled out the intention of robbery in the case of Prophet Nkansah.

He said Prophet Nkansah had only engaged the other convicts to either beat up the complainants or drive them away but not to rob them, adding that 'that was not what he had intended to do.'

The convicts were said to have robbed Stephen Ped-Andam on February 1, 2014 of his Samsung S4 iPhone, Dell laptop with a charger, cheque books, international driver's licence, certificates, iPad 32GB and GH¢55,000.00.

Prophet Nkansah, in an alleged connivance with his son and the 10 others, are said to have made away with a Blackberry Q10 mobile phone and an amount of GH¢500.00 belonging to one Geshon Essel, while another person, Billy Apeku Ken, also claims his Samsung mobile phone, Dell laptop and GH¢750.00 were missing.

The fourth complainant, Isaac Tetteh Korgbey, also accused Prophet Nkansah and the others of the disappearance of his Dell laptop and Sony video camera. One Emmanuel Nana Kwaku Badu has complained of his missing wallet containing GH¢1,000.00 and I.D. cards.
