Amanfrom Residents Cry Over Bad Roads

The people of Amanfrom community in the Bantama constituency of the Ashanti region has called on city authorities and government to quickly respond to the deteriorated roads in the area.

According to them, the rickety nature of the road has hindering effective access to healthcare which has led many others to serious situations, especially pregnant women.

ModernGhana noted that, most linkage roads in the community, have developed deep portholes with rough shapes making it difficult for transport.

Residents emphasised, particularly, on the major road leading to the only health facility thus, Amanfrom hospital, serving the area and nearby communities.

Amanfrom hospital, is located several kilometers away from the township that makes it difficult for residents to access healthcare during emergency situations.

This was revealed in an interview with when ModernGhana caught up with some residents, during a free health screening exercise organized by management of the hospital, as part of activities to mark one-year anniversary.

The hospital as part of its social responsibility, organized free hepatitis B health screening for members in the community, and it environs.

The chief executive of the hospital, Prof. Baafuor Kofi Opoku, briefing the press said, the exercise will help diagnose the deadly hepatitis B disease, and also provide health education to benefit the people.

He said, the hepatitis B is really dangerous and that it needs special attention to eliminate it from the country.

"We need to educate the public on such diseases, to help create awareness on how it could be avoided". He stated.

He reiterated his outfit will continue to offer the necessary support to benetifit the public.

He appealed to government and city authorities to immediately respond to the cry of the people in the construction of the roads, adding that will help enhance development.
