One of the world’s most established democracies is doubtlessly the United Kingdom with a flourishing multi-party system and the Conservative Party as one of its foremost parties which has over the years proved to have the acumen, clout and policy wherewithal to expand the frontiers of British prosperity. The strength and appeal as well as support are in no doubt across the nook and cranny of Britain and across the world perhaps as does most centre-right parties.

From the Stanley Baldwin era of leadership of the party (1923-1937), the Tory party had had pleasurable appeal and versatility. It is said to have,’ projected an inclusive appeal across class barriers, which emphasized patriotism, tradition, economic security and the defense of the ‘universal values’ such as the rule of law and rights to property ….’’

Today this assertion still persists and comes very much alive as the copious truth. Indeed, the party inspite of its invincibility had intermittently been upstaged by its Labor rival forces.

Historically, as late as in the 1950s, the party is noted to have done so much to improve the economic circumstances of the United Kingdom before falling in the 1960s and 1970s however regaining itself under Margaret Thatcher in 1975 and going therefrom to win in 1979; it won again in 1983 and also in 1987.

John Major also went ahead to secure victory for the party in 1992 before losing again in 1997. The party regains control over the United Kingdom in 2010 under David Cameron.

Indeed, available statistics shows that the party has substantially improved the economic fortunes of the UK and has inspired leadership efforts across Europe.

From pensions, health and the general improvements in fiscal deficit, the David Cameron led Conservative Party has proven a better and wealthy steward of the nation.

Its against this backdrop that the African Young Conservatives Dialogue, Ghana(The Dialogue, a youth centre-right platform for Africa wish to encourage all our African Diaspora with voting right in the UK to cast their votes for the Conservative Party and all its allies so as to further bolster an outright win for that party.

Perforce, we cannot be remiss about the effective role of the Conservative Party on the International Democratic Union (IDU) towards expanding the frontiers of democracy as well as support in assistance and aid to Africa and its role in world peace and global security. It needs be unreservedly, underscored the central role played by the Conservative Party in Youth development, mentorship and socialization which finds expression in the promotion of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU) amongst others. Indeed, it has stayed the course of Youth promotion and development and The Dialogue nascent working relationship and partnership with them is astoundingly refreshing.

Instructively, and as posited by Prime Minister David Cameron, the United Kingdom deserves a “strong leadership, clear economic plan as a vehicle for a brighter, more secure future”. The world can only be sure with the conservatives. This aspiration the centre-right tradition of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) shares and its presidential candidate Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo has at all time stood by and put forward strongly.

We wish the Party, great success and refreshing victory.
