Accra, May 5, GNA - The Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) has rolled out a new promotion dubbed 'GCB Big Money Promo,' aimed at turning the investments of account holders into life changing opportunities to enable many people to attain their dreams and plans.

The new promo encourages existing account holders as well as non-customers to open an account with GCB and deposit and maintain GH¢500.00 in their accounts, holding it over the promotion period of six months, which starts on April 30 and ends on October 31, 2015.

Speaking at the launch, Mrs Doris Wunu, Head of Consumer Banking at GCB, said customers would qualify them for various draws during the period for which there would be prizes such as cash, Samsung S6 Edge Smart Phones as well as generator sets.

'We will have a total of 6 draws which would include four monthly draws as well as two grand draws which will run on the National Lottery Authority's (NLA) Caritas Platform,' she said.

She mentioned that the monthly draws prizes include cash of GH¢2,000.00 and GH¢3,000.00 as well as Samsung smart phones and generator sets.

Prizes for the mini grand draws would also include generator sets, Samsung smart phones, and Samsung tablets as well as cash prize of GH¢100,000.00.

In the grand draw, the ultimate customer would win an amount of GH¢300,000.00 as well as generator sets, Samsung smart phones, as well as Samsung tablets.

Mr Samuel Sarpong, Chief Operating Officer at GCB, said the promo was a form of demonstrating their promise of bringing financial independence to the Bank's customers as well as helping to improve their lives.

He said since the introduction of the Bank's 24-hours personal loan service, it had been able to disburse over GH¢760.00 million to its clients.

'Over the past four years, we have also been able to double revenue from GH¢200.00 million to GH¢560.00 million, increased operating profits from GH¢20.00 million to GH¢320.00 million, and also doubled deposits,' he added.

He said the Bank had come out with huge investments in their staff through capacity building, IT infrastructure, customer contact points, which are now numbering 157, 15 agencies, 239 ATMs, robust internet banking, SMS banking, new branch design among others.

Mr Ekow Nkum, Head of Business Promotion at NLA, reiterated that the Authority was the only institution in the country mandated by law to run and supervise lottery in the country.

He said for the past four years, it had partnered with a lot of corporate entities to organise lotteries in the country.

He commended GCB for adhering to laws governing promos in the country and urged other corporate organisations to do the same.
