NDC Won’t Take Electorates For Granted

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged to fulfill all the promises it made to the electorate during the 2012 election period.

The party also stated that it will not disappoint the majority of Ghanaians who voted it into power in 2012.

The Mahama-led administration is under pressure to deliver the many promises it made to citizens during the 2012 campaign period

Many have threatened to vote out the NDC due to the party’s inability to resolve the many socio-economic challenges facing the nation.

The NDC’s Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho in an interview with Citi FM, said the government will under no circumstances take the electorate for granted.

He said the government is working to ease the economic burden on the general public, especially the power crisis which is crippling many businesses.

Anyidoho said, “You promised certain things, you campaigned on a manifesto and you have power; you don’t take the electorate for granted. It’s as simple as that!”

According to him, it is dangerous for any political party to take the electorates for granted because they wield the power to kick the government out.

He pointed out that the voting public “can decide that out of apathy and out of disrespect for them, they will not come out and support.”

“They will not vote for the opponent, but also not vote for you so that is a given – don’t take the base for granted.”
