Mercy Adu Gyamfi Bello, aka Ama Sey, former Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Akwatia constituency in the Eastern Region, who has joined the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the party, has vowed to unseat Baba Jamal, the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.

According to the NPP female parliamentary aspirant, Baba Jamal has no vision to serve the people of Akwatia, therefore he has to be voted out in the 2016 general elections for a unifier and visionary leader to take over and champion developmental projects in the area.

Ama Sey, as she is popularly known, told DAILY GUIDE after filing her nomination forms last Wednesday at the party's constituency office that her main objective was to unseat the NDC MP since the ruling party had ignored the people of Akwatia in terms of development.

She hinted that Akwatia, land of gold and diamond, had turned into a deprived community, with the inhabitants not having access to portable water.

'The NDC government has done nothing for the people of Akwatia because the NDC knows that the seat is for the NPP which Baba Jamal succeeded in rigging in the 2012 parliamentary election to win,” Ama Sey indicated.

“Baba Jamal and his NDC government always make promises which they never deliver, not even a single project,' adding that the NDC promised to construct the Akwatia roads but nothing had been done about them since 2009.

She dared Baba Jamal to come out publicly to outline what his NDC government had done for the people of Akwatia.

Ms Ama Sey was optimistic that she would win the parliamentary primaries since she has confidence in the delegates and they also believe in her, due to her numerous contributions to the party.

She has taken and filed her nomination forms together with two other NPP aspirants.
