NDC youth in UK and Ireland congratulate workers

Accra, May 2, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth in the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland has congratulated Ghanaian workers for their dedication to work on the occasion of this year's May Day celebration.

It expressed solidarity with those who toil day in and night to keep the country's hope, equity, social justice and tolerance afloat.

There is no substitute for hard work, the NDC youth said in a statement signed by Mr Kofi Adoli, Youth Organiser, NDC UK/Ireland and copied to GNA.

'The respect gained by our country both home and abroad is a testament that your productive effort cannot go unnoticed. May we continue to work hard to make our country a better place for current and future generations,' it said.

The youth said history would always be on the side of the hardworking people who had contributed to make the country a place of envy of among other nations.

The statement said: 'The challenges of our times should be our strength and spur us on to even greater productivity levels.'

The NDC youth said members believe in the efforts Ghanaian workers had put in place for the social good of the country irrespective of being over-compensated or under-compensated.

'From our farms to factories; banks to businesses; and from alleyways to our airways you have all committed yourselves to building a Better Ghana.

'As members of a social democratic party, we are eternally aware of our duty to stay loyal to the course of the worker and to pursue social justice with them,' the statement said.

Members expressed confidence in the government to transformation Ghana and yield the outcome for all.

The youth urged workers to continue to show solidarity to government and labour as they steer the country to a better place.

'Together, in friendship, the NDC and hardworking Ghanaian men and women will transform the fortunes of all, not just a few, from victory unto victory.'
