If Nothing Is Perfect, What then?

If Nothing Is Perfect, What then?
02.05.2015 LISTEN

If nothing is perfect, what then? Do you quit life? Do you run away? If so where will you go?

For Example
Your family or relatives are not so perfect. One or two may be challenged by substance abuse, or are jail birds. But it is the same cousin who brings an atmosphere or unity in the family. He might be the one who once sacrificed almost everything to save you. So what do you do?

At times people offend us. If you are really innocent then I suggest you free yourself from the prison of harbouring grudges. This will put you on the same side with God. Withholding forgiveness puts you on the same side as your offender. By the way, your offender may have even asked for forgiveness and is now on the same side with God – and you are the only one still on the wrong side of the street, with the devil. Do yourself a favour and just FORGIVE!

There is Always a Good Side and a Bad Side
Every person has a good side and a bad side. You married your spouse because of their good qualities, and not because of their flaws. You may have put a lot of effort into supressing those flaws. So today focus on the reasons why you love the one you are with and stop comparing them to someone else! Life is not a competition. Everyone is unique and different, including you.

Don’t believe that the grass is greener on the other side, when you don’t know how much the water bill is and how big the green pitch is. Who knows, maybe beyond the green valleys lies ‘Sodom and Gomorrah.’ Do not be easily enticed by greener pastures when you do not know how long they will last.

Focus on the good qualities or else the flaws will overpower the beauty. Appreciate the good and avoid trying to fix every person you meet. You are not God.

Enjoy every Moment
Enjoy the good that your company or your boss offers. Before you receive your promotion enjoy your current position. Take advantage of your current position and learn all that you can. Enjoy your suburb and learn more about it. God placed you there for a purpose. Even if you are in prison, there are people you can reach out to whom you could not reach elsewhere. Just make a difference. If you can handle your time well, God will promote you. Getting sad and depressed, throwing pity parties and playing the blame game does not move you forward! You can blame someone, you can blame yourself, you can blame the government and you can even blame God, but it will not change your current situation.

Even if your circumstances last for a year, five or twenty years, change will come. Don’t worsen your situation by grumbling and complaining, instead empower yourself and prepare for greater things to come. Grab every opportunity to better yourself from the inside out and enjoy it.

In Genesis, it was supposed to take a few days for the Israelites to cross from Egypt to Canaan. But their complaining and murmuring turned the few days into 40 years. A lot of them did not even reach Canaan. Your complaining could be what is holding you back from moving forward.

In whatever situation you are in, God is with you. Do not be threatened by circumstances. Look around your journey and admire how far you’ve come. You have seen God at work in your life again and again. Why do you think he will leave you now? Do not lose hope! Do not quit! Your promotion is definite.

Focus on the Good side
Your children might not be the most gifted but they may be good at a lot of other things. They maybe good at art, sport, public speaking, creative writing or history. You may even be raising a future bestselling author. Develop your child in the area that he/she is gifted in.

Not all successful people are more intelligent, they simply focused on what they are good at and became the best in that. Being the last in class is not the end of the road, but should be the beginning of a new self-discovery journey. Do not hesitate to explore. The end of the road comes when one fails to identify his/her God given gifts and stops appreciating the Good inside.

Have a great day!
