The Sowutoum branch of the International Central Gospel Church, (ICGC), has marked the 5th birthday of the church on Sunday, 26th April at the church premises.

The church which was founded on 25th April 2010 was formed by a group of young men and women called Zealous outreach from ICGC Awoshie – Royal Temple and since its inception, the church has been experiencing God’s goodness and greatness.

Now under the leadership of its Head Pastor, Sampson Tawiah, the church has seen a tremendous increase in membership and converts and God has blessed members with financial breakthroughs, child birth, marriages, and healing miracles.

Over the years, the church developed a robust leadership and departmental structures tosteer the affairs of the church. The various departments include the Choir, Outreach, Intercessory, Ushering and Hospitality, ABC Classes, Children’s Service Department, Women and Men’s Ministry and Young Adults.

Marking the day, a 3 days thanksgiving service was organized and it was climaxed on Sunday, 26th April with praises to thank God for his mercies, grace, compassion and unfailing love for the church over the years.

Taking the day’s scripture from Psalm 124:1- “If it had not been Lord who was on our side…” the head Pastor of the Church, Sampson Tawiah was grateful to God for been on the side of the church over the years.

According to him, the church has been through challenging moments but God always comes to the defense of the church and God is using the church to do great things in the lives of its people.

The head pastor also used the occasion to challenge the church members especially the youth to be committed to the work of God so that God himself will reward their efforts by taking them to greater heights.

He, therefore, urged the members of the church to shun the habit of always going before God with a request but should rather develop the habit of thanking God always and he will not forsake them.

The church, the philosophy of which is centered on practical Christianity, human dignity and excellence, has over the years influenced the lives of its members and on the day, members give testimonies of how God has used the church to transform their lives and their families.

It was a colorful day as representatives of the choir, Men and women’s fellowship, Young Adults and the children’s Service department joins hand to cut the 5th Anniversary Cake.

The entire atmosphere at the church became electrified when the congregants were treated to soul inspiring praises songs from the ICGC Sowutoum Choir.
