THE NDC deputy women organizer for Affigya Kwabre South, Ama Gyamaa, has allegedly invoked the dreaded Antoa Nyamaa river deity and another river god to strike dead some faceless people who she claims are defaming Eric Opoku, the acting Ashanti Regional Minister.

According to her, some people are spreading wild rumours that Mr. Eric Opoku, who is also the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, engaged them to kill one Isaac Boakye, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Asunafo South constituency, during the 2012 general elections.

Ama Gyamaa added that the same people were wrongly accusing Eric Opoku of having a hand in the recent mayhem which occurred at Sankore in the Brong-Ahafo Region, 'Even though Eric Opoku has no hand in the pandemonium.'

She said the allegations were fast destroying the hard-won image and reputation of the regional minister, who doubles as the NDC MP for Asunafo South, adding that he had stated categorically to her (Gyamaa) that he knew nothing about the speculations.

Ama Gyamaa, who described Eric Opoku as her mentor and father in politics, said all attempts to locate those faceless people to substantiate their speculations had been in vain, hence her decision to invoke the powerful river deity to kill them wherever they are.

The NDC women organizer, at a press conference in Kumasi on Wednesday to clear the name of Eric Opoku, shocked journalists when at the tail end of the event, she invoked Antoa Nyamaa and Adwumakaase Subi deities, to deal ruthlessly with those faceless people.

She said if Eric Opoku indeed contracted people to eliminate Isaac Boakye during the 2012 elections as was being spread around, especially on some selected radio networks in Kumasi, then the two powerful river deities should not spare him (Eric Opoku).

Ama Gyamaa added that if the rumours are falsehood strategically planned just to dent the image of Mr. Eric Opoku for political reasons, then the river deities should kill the detractors adding, 'After killing them the gods should use their wives and children for thanksgiving.'
