NPP UK Mourns WBLS Founder...Shocked And Sad At Sammy Kays Death
30.04.2015 LISTEN

The New Patriotic Party UK is deeply shocked and very sad to learn of the tragic and untimely death of Mr Samuel KwasiAnning also known as Sammy Kay, The Owner and Station Manager of WBLS RADIO.

WBLS Radio was the first Ghanaian community radio station in the UK.

Sammy Kay as he was affectionately known by all was a pillar and a voice in the Ghanaian community in the United Kingdom and his station has been an outlet for social, economic and political programs on Ghana and Africa spanning two decades.

Through his efforts Ghanaians in the UK were able to access news and programs directly from radio stations in Ghana such as Oman FM , Peace FM and other rural stations.

Sammy Kay was a soft spoken, humble gentleman and was gracious and generous to us .He will be sadly missed.

NPP UK offers its deepest condolences to his family, the staff of WBLS and to the Ghanaian media fraternity in the United Kingdom who have lost a colleague, father , brother, uncle and friend.

May his Soul rest in Peace.
