Nepal Earthquake Disaster: The True Picture

Reports from Professionals For Humanity (PROFOH) team on the ground stated that over 6,000 people dead and 60,000 thousand injured. These numbers increase with every report we got from Anita Singh PROFOH Country Director

Buildings and homes have been flattened. Hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley are overflowing and running out of medical supplies, and in Gorkha, one of the most devastated districts, it is estimated that 80% of houses have been destroyed. Anita house is one of such houses.

Families are sleeping outside, scared by the damage to buildings and the threat of aftershocks. Nearly 5 million people are helpless, terrified and in danger. According to Anita water is everything here- for families who have lost everything in the earthquake.

We are on the ground and focused on reaching families whose lives are in danger - providing them with the emergency supplies especially water they need to survive in the days ahead. Conduct clinical consultations, it is vital that our teams have clean water, blankets and other emergency supplies for families. We urgently need your help.

There is no time to lose. With every passing hour the death toll rises. Three days of national mourning has been declared by the government.
