Operation 1 Million Votes Movement Formed By Some NDC Branch Executives On The Topic ‘’No VFF In Volta NDC’’

Good morning to you all members of the press herein gathered. On behalf of the leadership and the entire membership of Operation 1 MillionVotes for HE John Dramani Mahama formed by some NDC Branch Executives, who are poised to make sure HE John Dramani Mahama retains power come 2016,I welcome you all to this very important press conference.

We have invited you all here today to enable us express our opinion on the dubious news caption bythe Daily Guide News Paper for last Saturday 25^th April, 2015 thus “Anyidoho AGAINSTMahama says Volta NDC” thiswe strongly believe is just aimed at portraying a bad image about the good and lovely people of the National Democratic Congress as if there was a problem happening in the Volta Region as far as the party is concerned.

Ladies and gentlemen, before we speak on the topic, we will like to use this opportune moment to extend our sincere gratitude to the people of the Volta Region for how, they have constantly and faithfully supported and voted for the NDC Party to continue to win power and we are very confident come 2016 the 1 Million Votes difference target we have set for ourselves as members of the party in the region will be achieved through hard work to enable HE John Dramani Mahamacontinue delivering on the Better Ghana Agenda.

The Media, Ladies and Gentlemen, this press conference is aimed at debunking the mischievous news caption by the Daily Guide News Paper by setting the records straight and also to revive the true spirit of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) among party faithfuls towards victory in the upcoming general elections come 2016.

As a movement that has been seriously working on the grounds to make sure,we work with all the necessary stakeholdersin the party within the region to win at least 1 Million Votes Difference between HE John Dramani Mahama and the other political parties come 2016 in the Volta Region and Branch Executives of NDC which formed the Operation 1 Millionmovement emphatically want to state that, NDC Volta Youths disassociate themselves from that press conference which contains chuffs and unwarranted statements aimed at damaging the hard earned reputation of Hon.Koku Anyidoho and the NDC in the Volta Region.

It is very funny to see; a group that calls itself Volta Freedom Fighters (VFF) which does not even know the meaning ofwhat their groupstands for. A freedom fighter is someone that abides by and upholds to the principles of a constitution in the highest esteem. There is no group in the Volta NDC called Volta Freedom Fighters.No, not at all!We the people in the NDC Volta are law abiding and are taught to always use our constitution to settle our differences as stated in Article 40 of our party constitution.

Ladies and gentlemen,the members of VFF should learn to understand that, we will not allow them to put the name of our cherished party into disrepute in the region, that one will not happen because as said by the Founder of our party HE former President Rawlings at the just ended national congress held in Kumasi and I quote “No party can send us into opposition but we ourselves”on that note we areready to face anybody in that regard with all our might according to laid down procedures in our party constitution.

It is very unfortunate to see people who called themselves Volta Freedom Fighters constantly usingwhatsaap and other social media platforms to insult prominent people of the region.A freedom fighter insulting people? A freedom fighter does not love some and hate the rest. Is that not hypocrisy? A freedom fighter is someone who uses dialogue to solve issues. I urge them to change their name because they are not fighting any freedom for Volta Region. Who even told them Volta Region is in captivity, bondage and slavery in the first place?, Ghana as a country has attained independence since 1957 and we have all been enjoying freedom in this country. So what freedom are they fighting for,for Volta Region?

It is evident all the members of the so called Volta Freedom Fighters are supported by some Big Wigs within the party. This was even evident during and after the national congress of the party and the daily use of whatsapp and other social media platforms to be insulting prominent people like Hon Dzifa Attivor,Rt.Hon Doe Adzajo,Hon Benjamin Kpodo, Comrade Abigail Elorm, Hon.Egypt Kudoto, Hon.Simon Amegashie Viglo, Hon. Henry Ametefe,Hon Gyapong Kwadzo and Hon. Koku Anyidoho and many others. This toddler’s attitude of the so called VFF members must stop.

It has become clear that,the developmental projects in the Volta Region is drawing so much attention. Projects such as our Prestigious University(UHAS),Eastern Corridor Roads, Air strip Project in Ho, Regional UltraModern Market and Ultra-Modern Abattoir in Ho just to mention a few. The so called miscreants instead of congratulating the good work of HE John Mahama in the region are rather championing the parochial interest of their pay masters.

Those who think,they are doing all these things behind the scenes to make it look as if theyhave lovefor HE John Dramani Mahama should know that, they are rather causing his downfall in the Volta Region as they are trying to create confusion among we the youths each passing day and this we believe is barbaric,satanic, for a bunch of extremists to refer to Hon. Koku Anyidoho as working against HE John Dramani Mahama.FoKoku Anyidoho is an asset and a great pillar in the Volta Region and likewise the others.

It is very hypocritical for the group to have called on our respectedpersonality and a son of the region RT. Hon Speaker Doe Adjaho to call Hon. Koku Anyidoho to order when those same extremists insulted him for no reason. Those people behind the scene who wants to form militant group in Volta NDC should be ready to face the consequences.

Ladies and Gentlemen, We will like to use this medium to tell HE John Dramani Mahama that, the youths in the Volta Region are very much poised and are working assiduously to get at least

1 Million Votes difference between him and his opponents come 2016 and that we assure him in the name of the Almighty God.

Our appeal to those in VFF is that, they should never try to bring problems and confusion among our prominent personalities and the party in the region.

We will like to appeal to the following personalities Former Chief of Staff Hon Prosper Bani, Mr.Siki Abibub, Mr.Fonu Kpatakpa,Mr.Mathias Alagbo and Hon. Kofi Adams to call VFF members to order and chain their baby mouths.We are saying so because they campaigned for them in the elections they contested which was perceived to be sponsored by Mr.Prosper Bani.There is time for competition and there is time for cooperation.The elections are over and we need everybody on board to work in the interest of our dear party.

Our advice to Hon.Koku Anyidoho,Hon Kofi Adams, Former Chief of Staff Hon Prosper Bani and others who hailed from the Volta Region is that, if there are any differences between them they should make a conscious effortto resolve itamicably by calling on prominent people in the region,the regional NDC party executives and even the national executives of NDC to do so all the interest of the party.

However, theymust continue to bring their expertise and experiences on board to the fullest to enable us all work towards retaining HE John Mahama in office come 2016 which is just around the corner.

At this juncture, we will like to assure HE John Dramani Mahama that,the regional party executives led by Hon Gyapong Kwadzo are focused and working assiduously to ensure victory for him come 2016.
