Dumsor Is Affecting Church Offertory And Tithes
28.04.2015 LISTEN

Renowned Evangelist, Nicholas Osei popularly known as “Kumchacha,” has said the current energy crisis in the country has brought a number of churches on their knees as offertory and tithes have dwindled drastically.

According to him, churches spend lots of money to buy fuel to generate electricity in order to enjoy a lively service.

The Founder of the Accra-based Heaven’s Gate International Ministries said in exclusive interview with Atinka News that the ongoing dumsor has affected churches like any other business in the country, adding that some churches are folding up.

“Because a lot of businesses are folding up, church members do not get offertory and tithe for the church. This has brought untold hardship to churches and many Ghanaians. Aside that, anytime there is power failure, members feel reluctant to attend church because they have no power to iron their clothes,” the Evangelist said.

Pastor Nicholas added, “I have also noticed that many Christians feel embarrassed when they come to church and cannot give offertory. Due to this, a lot of them would rather be absent”.

He further stated that, hardship forces people to commit all kinds of sins. He also pleaded with the government to take frantic efforts to solve the dumsor in the country and restore happiness to the masses.
