Techiman, April 27, GNA - The Right Reverend Samuel Fred Ansuh, Methodist Bishop of Techiman, at the weekend advised Christians to ensure that their lifestyle transformed the secular world.

He explained that a Christian life of peace, comfort and sanity would pave the way for the Word of God to steadily move forward and impact positively in society.

Rt Rev Ansuh gave the advice when he addressed the opening session of the 12th Annual Diocesan Synod of the Techiman Methodist Diocese at Techiman.

Attended by 120 ministers and lay chairmen drawn from the 10 circuits within the diocese, the four-day synod was on the theme: 'Witnessing to Christ: Holistic Spirituality: A Shared Ministry.'

Rt Rev Ansuh said it was required of Christians to exhibit and share the ministry of those with one faith, baptism and goal, which according to him, would turn the world upside down for Jesus Christ, and establish God's Kingdom.

According to the Methodist Bishop, a shared ministry of Jesus Christ would bring relief, comfort, togetherness, effectiveness and bring ideas together, tapping individual's gifts and graces not only to build the church, but also a strong community and united nation in general.

'As Christians, we must be committed to the aims and principles of Christianity or the Church,' he said, indicating that 'it is our bounden duty to preach the Christ crucified, exhibiting His life in our lives, by showing that Christ is in you and you are in Christ'.

Rt Rev Ansuh emphasized that Christians ought to be seen with the greatest demonstration of love to bring positive transformation in families, work places and communities.

He announced that the diocese had made proposals to create four additional circuits by 2016 in tandem with the Connexion's decentralization policy to enhance effective administration and governance.

The proposed circuits are Wenchi South, Techiman South and Nkoranza North sections, as well as the Sampa mission, he added.

Mr Philip Oppong Amponsah, the Techiman Municipal Chief Executive, said government appreciated the contributions of the church towards accelerated national development.

He observed that aside the spiritual development of members in general, the Methodist Church had also supported in enhancing the growth of education, by establishing 744 kindergartens, 1,042 basic and 519 Junior High Schools in the country.

Mr Amponsah advised members of the church to be disciplined and endeavour to adhere to the teachings and doctrines of the church.
