Former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Builsa North constituency, Agnes Asangalisa Chigabatia, has endorsed Listowell Yesu Bukarson, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), for the Builsa North parliamentary seat in the Upper East Region.

According to her, Bukarson has what it takes to mobilise all the people in the area to embark on any developmental projects or programmes they desire.

'Since he told me about his interest in contesting for the seat, I have observed him and asked more questions about him, and I think he is a team player who really has the well-being of Builsa North at heart. I served as a mother to all, irrespective of their political background, and that is what I see this young man doing when given the nod to represent Builsa North in Parliament… Like me, when I was given a ministerial position under the New Patriotic Party government, I did not ignore my people; I came home and spent time with my people. I see Yesu Bukarson doing the same for his people. I will endorse him anytime, even if it will demand that I do that 100 times. He is the best for the area,' the former MP said.

She was responding to a question as to why she accompanied Bukarson to return his nomination forms at the NPP constituency office in Sandema on Thursday, April 23, 2015.

Madam Chigabatia was the Deputy Upper East Regional Minister and MP for Builsa North from 2004 to 2008.

She lost to Timothy Ataboadey of the NDC, in line with the decision of the constituents that no one should be given more than one term.

Since 1992, only Theodore Basil Anuka of the NDC won twice and people still ask how that happened.

The incumbent MP, James Agalga of the NDC and Deputy Interior Minister, is likely to be unseated as the people have started asking for a youthful MP who will not discriminate in dealing with the constituents and can also tolerate various shades of opinions from constituents, even if they go against his political party or government.

There are posters of Listowell Bukarson all over the constituency and he seems to be enjoying massive support.

In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, Listowell Bukarson confirmed that indeed he had filed his nomination documents and was looking forward to a sweet victory in the NPP primaries scheduled for June 2015 and another victory in 2016.
