Accra, April. 25, GNA - Government has reviewed the curfew imposed on the Bimbilla Township with effect from Friday April 24, 2015 to resolve conflicts in the area.
A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr Mark Owen Woyongo, Minister of Interior on Friday said the curfew period will be between 1800 hours and 06:00 hours each day.
The review was done by the Government on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council.
The statement appealed to Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
'There is a total ban on all persons in the town and surrounding areas from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons and any individual found with arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted,' the statement added.
