Kumasi, April 24, GNA - A Kumasi Circuit Court on Thursday sentenced Emmanuel Botwe, popularly known as Kwaw Kese, a renowned hip-life musician, to a-24-hour imprisonment for smoking wee.
Mr Justice William Boampong, a high court judge doubling as a circuit court judge, ordered him to pay GH¢12,000, or face a three- year jail term.
Kwaw Kese pleaded not guilty, but was found culpable by the Court at the end of the six-month trial.
Police Superintendent Emmanuel A. Akunnor, giving the background of the case said, on November 22 last year, Kwaw Kese was caught smoking wee at the plus 2 wine shop, located at Nhyaeso in Kumasi, and he was arrested. GNA
