Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, a top contender for the Suame NPP parliamentary seat, brought activities in the area to a standstill on Wednesday when he was going to the party's office to pick his nomination form to officially announce his participation in the upcoming party polls.

The crowd that followed him to the party's office was so colossal that it caused massive vehicular traffic in the neighbourhood.

Clad in the red, white and blue colours of the NPP, the enthusiastic-looking people sang victory songs as others chanted Boateng Genfi’s name.

The scene was a spectacle to behold as it attracted more people in the area including traders, who left their wares just to be part of the jamboree.

Most of the people openly shouted on top of their voices that Suame needed change and that Boateng Genfi was their preferred choice as MP for 2016.

Boateng Genfi, who looked overwhelmed by the huge support he had enjoyed from the people, said he would win the NPP primaries convincingly.

Sounding confident, he stated emphatically that he would also win the 2016 polls on the ticket of the NPP with a big margin.

He said he would restore hope and confidence in the NPP in the constituency, since most party faithful had lost confidence in the party. He also pledged to woo floating voters to the camp of the NPP.

The aspirant stated that his major goal was to work assiduously to ensure that the NPP maximised its votes at Suame to help Nana Akufo-Addo become president in 2016.

Even though he appears to be the people’s choice for the Suame NPP seat, he said he would not be complacent, stressing that he was ready to campaign in a decorous manner to protect party unity.

Boateng Genfi indicated that he would campaign with zeal to sharply reduce the NDC's votes at Suame and also increase the NPP's.
