High Court Adjourns Kumawu Chieftaincy Case To April 29
21.04.2015 LISTEN

Mampong High court presided over by Justice Kwame Ansu-Gyeabour last Monday adjourned Kumawu chieftaincy case to April 29.

When the case was called for hearing, Nana Kwasi Baffoe ii, Akwamuhene of Kumawu, and one of the applicants appealed to the court for adjournment as their lawyer could not attend the court for some reasons.

The leading lawyer representing Otumfour Nana Osei Tutu ii,the Asantehene and five others ,the respondents, thought otherwise in that the applicant's lawyer's failure to send a written letter to the court was a deliberate attempt to cause undue delayance of the court proceedings.

The presiding judge adjourned the case after listening to both parties.

It may be recalled that when the case was called for hearing at the same court on last Friday, April 17, the Respondents protested against the presence of lawyer Charles Agbalu, the applicants' lawyer on legal grounds which was upheld by the court leading to his withdrawal from the case.

The court then granted the applicants the opportunity to go for a new lawyer and adjourned the case to April 20.
