Tarkwa, April 20, GNA - A Tarkwa Circuit Court on Monday granted bail in the sum of GH¢3,000.00 with one surety to a 48 year-old tailor, Kofi Kessa, for fraudulent breach of trust.

He pleaded guilty and will re-appear on April 30.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court, presided over by Mr. Justice Obeng Asante that the complainant, Joe Awah, is a tailor at Tarkwa and the accused is also a tailor at Obuasi.

He said last year, the complainant had a contract and he invited the accused to help him execute it.

Chief Inspector Amponsah said Kessa also invited one Kennedy, a tailor at Obuasi and they had an initial agreement of sewing one set of uniform for GH¢5.00.

He said later, the accused and Kennedy demanded more than the five cedis for sewing one set of uniform.

The Prosecutor said the accused sewed one hundred set of uniforms as first consignment and he collected an advance payment of GH¢1,120.00.

Chief Inspector Amponsah said after the accused and Kennedy got hold of the money, they left for Obuasi to attend a funeral but they did not return on the approved date.

He said when the accused was confronted by the complainant as to why they have delayed in coming, he told him that the increment in the sewing fee was long overdue and that he would charge GH¢10.00 for a uniform.

The Prosecutor said during investigations, the accused refunded GH¢200.00 and after the investigation, the accused was charged with the offense.
