Accra, April 16, GNA - The Christian Community Microfinance Limited (CCML) has won the Century International Quality ERA Awards at the 2015 Business Initiative Direction (BID) convention in Geneva, Switzerland.

CCML was presented with a CQE Gold Category Award for its strong commitment to quality and excellence.

A release issued to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday said through the awards CCML had joined BID's prestigious group of award winners.

The Century International Quality ERA Awards recognises businesses' commitment to Quality, Leadership, Technology and Innovation.

The release said Mrs Mary Mariamah Aduke Armah, CCML's General Manager, Corporate Affairs and head of delegation, received the award on behalf of CCML at the ceremony which took place at the InterContinental Geneva Convention Hall, Switzerland.

It said Mrs Armah shared with the audience CCML's beliefs in an uncommon life beyond finance, noting that CCML did not only provide clients with financial stability but added value to their lives through an effective social performance monitoring system and advocating community-based CSR projects, capacity building projects and technological innovations into business and customer lifestyles.

'CCML makes quality a core focus for continuous improvement of management to maintain leadership in this sector and the community,' it said.

It quoted Jose E. Prieto, President of BID, as saying that the award recipients were icons of leadership, technology and innovation, which should make them models for others in their sector to look up to.

The release noted that in the past years the award recipients focused on assets of their companies and organisations, however, he was glad to notice that this year's recipients projected the quality and values they added to lives.

CCML started in 1979 as the Ecumenical Church Loan Fund (ECLOF) by ECLOF International and the Christian Council of Ghana with the aim of helping the organised life of the Church. After a series of transition as an institution, it became Christian Community Microfinance Limited (CCML) still wholly owned by the Christian Council of Ghana.

Licensed by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) as a deposit taking microfinance institution in 2012, CCML has 36 years of experience in providing uncommon business services and solutions, specialising in the areas of credit, savings, investments and business development. It has advocated strong commitment to technology, quality, excellence and values in its operation and business solution.
