Moscow, April 9, (dpa/GNA) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov plans to attend talks on the Ukraine crisis in the German capital Berlin, Interfax news agency reported Thursday.

Lavrov is scheduled to meet Monday with his counterparts from Germany, France and Ukraine to discuss the implementation of the Minsk peace accord for the war-torn country.

Lavrov has called on France and Germany to increase the pressure on the Ukrainian government to implement the resolutions agreed in the middle of February and he has written a letter to that effect, Interfax reported.

"In the letter I have especially referred to the need to stop the sabotage of the Minsk agreement," Lavrov said.

The Foreign Ministry in Berlin had earlier expressed the desire to have four-party talks at the beginning of next week. France and Ukraine have already confirmed that they will be taking part.

The last time the four foreign ministers met was on January 21 in Berlin's Villa Borsig.

Three weeks later German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the presidents of Russia, France and Ukraine met in the Belarusian capital Minsk for a summit in which a fragile ceasefire was agreed.

The four powers have not met for a high-level meeting since then.
